Vietnam's B-segment sedan market saw significant growth in October, with total sales reaching 3,951 vehicles, an increase of over 42% compared to September's 2,778 vehicles. This marks the highest sales volume for the segment in 2025. Toyota Vios remained the month's focal point, not only holding its top spot but also setting its highest sales record since the beginning of 2025.
Specifically, after selling 1,292 vehicles in September, its previous high for the year, Vios continued its ascent in October by selling 1,402 vehicles, an 8,5% increase from the previous month. This sales figure allowed Vios to widen its lead over competitors, solidifying its position as the best-selling B-segment sedan for 2025.
Meanwhile, Honda City rebounded to second place in October with 1,287 vehicles, marking a 171% increase compared to its September sales of 475 vehicles, following a significant drop. Despite this substantial increase, driven by major promotions in October, a significant gap of over 2,000 vehicles remains between City and Vios in cumulative sales over the past ten months. To unseat Vios, City would need to sell more than 2,000 additional vehicles in the final two months of 2025. This presents a difficult challenge for City, given its inconsistent sales performance throughout 2025.
The Korean model, Hyundai Accent, sold 609 vehicles, a slight increase from September's 406 units, but it has not yet recovered its previous sales momentum. Accent also trails City by around 2,000 vehicles in cumulative sales over the ten-month period.
Other models in the lower segment continued to maintain significantly lower sales, with Mazda2 selling 488 vehicles, Mitsubishi Attrage 143 vehicles, and Kia Soluto only 22 vehicles in October. The gap between the leading group and the rest is widening, indicating a clear differentiation within the B-segment sedan market. The trio of Vios, City, and Accent dominate, while other models contribute a small fraction to the overall sales.

In the final two months of the year, the B-segment sedan market is expected to continue its annual growth trajectory, driven by demand-stimulating incentive programs. Vios and City will likely remain the two leading models, supported by stable supply and high demand, while other models are unlikely to change their positions.
