Car prices slashed by millions of dong in July

Subaru, Volkswagen, Jeep, and Haval models are seeing price reductions of hundreds of millions to billions of dong through registration fee waivers or direct cash discounts.

The wave of price reductions in the Vietnamese auto market has continued steadily each month since the beginning of 2025. High-end or long-stocked models are seeing the most significant discounts.

The mid-range Subaru Forester i-L EyeSight is priced at 899 million dong at dealerships, a decrease of 200 million dong. The top-of-the-line i-S EyeSight version is now 969 million dong, down 230 million dong from the suggested retail price.

In July, some Hyundai dealerships in northern Vietnam are selling the 2024 Santa Fe Exclusive version for 855 million dong, a discount of 214 million dong. Dealership staff stated that these are the last 2024 Santa Fe models available, only in white, and are being heavily discounted to "clear inventory."

For 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe models, a discount equivalent to 100% of the registration fee is being offered. With vehicle prices ranging from 1.069 to 1.365 billion dong, the cost to register this mid-size SUV is reduced by approximately 107 to 163 million dong, depending on the locality.

The Haval H6, a compact crossover SUV, was the first model from the Chinese brand to be sold in Vietnam. The company also introduced the Jolion, a subcompact crossover SUV, in 2025. The Jolion is currently discounted by about 40 million dong at dealerships.

The Touareg, Volkswagen's most expensive model in Vietnam, is discounted in both versions. Dealerships are currently selling the Touareg Elegance and Luxury for 2.368 billion and 2.768 billion dong respectively, equivalent to a discount of 331 million dong.

In July, in addition to the Touareg, the Volkswagen Teramont Limited Edition is also heavily discounted, by 250 million dong. This mid-size German SUV is now selling for over 1.8 billion dong.
