Bentley recently unveiled the Continental GT Supersports, a model marking the brand's shift towards a purer driving experience within its grand tourer lineup. The car entirely removes the hybrid system, instead using a twin-turbocharged V8 engine and rear-wheel drive, a first for this drivetrain in a production Continental model.

Internally named "Project Mildred", this project aimed to create a rear-wheel-drive Continental GT weighing under 2,000 kg. Initially a track-testing prototype, the project received approval for production after showing promising results. Its launch coincides with the 100th anniversary of the first Super Sports model, introduced in 1925.
The exterior features a new front bumper with cooling vents and airfoils, matching side skirts, and a rear bumper with air vents and a ducktail-style spoiler. The car utilizes a laser-cut grille and a larger diffuser. This new aerodynamic package generates an additional 300 kg of downforce compared to the Continental GT Speed.
The cockpit boasts two lightweight sport seats, offering 11-way power adjustment and heating. The interior incorporates carbon fiber or aluminum trim, Supersports logo embroidery, and an individual numbering plaque. Customers can further personalize their vehicle through Bentley's Mulliner division.
The Continental GT Supersports is powered by a 4.0 twin-turbocharged V8 engine, delivering 657 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque. While these figures are lower than the Continental GT Speed due to the absence of the hybrid drivetrain, Bentley states the model focuses on responsiveness and driving feel.
The car accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 3.7 seconds and reaches a top speed of 310 km/h. Power transmits to the rear wheels via an 8-speed ZF dual-clutch transmission, paired with an electronic limited-slip differential, rear-wheel steering, and a torque vectoring system. The chassis, suspension system, steering, and electronic systems have all received specific tuning.
Additionally, the Supersports features aerodynamic upgrades, 22-inch reinforced wheels developed in collaboration with Manthey Racing, 440 mm carbon ceramic front brakes, and an Akrapovic titanium exhaust. Standard Pirelli P-Zero tires can be upgraded to high-performance Trofeo RS options.
To achieve its sub-2,000 kg weight, Bentley removed the hybrid drivetrain and all-wheel-drive system, eliminated the rear seats, reduced sound insulation, used a carbon roof, and simplified some driver assistance technologies. This makes it the lightest Continental GT and the lightest Bentley model since 1940.
Bentley will open orders for the Continental GT Supersports in 3/2026, with production commencing in Q4 of the same year and deliveries starting in early 2027. Only 500 units will be produced and allocated to specific markets. Pricing will be announced later.
