The M-Hero M817 is built on a dual architecture platform, combining Dongfeng's Warrior Intelligent Off-Road Architecture M-tech and Huawei's Tianyuan. Two powertrain options are available: plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and extended-range hybrid (EREV).
The PHEV version features a 1.5-liter engine coupled with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system, producing 912 horsepower and 1,280 Nm of torque. This configuration allows the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds. Combined with CATL's Freevoy battery, the vehicle achieves a CLTC-rated all-electric range of 200 km and a combined range of over 1,000 km.
The M-Hero M817 also features Huawei's Qiankun ADS 4 ADAS, which supports all-scenario intelligent driving, including point-to-point parking assistance, high-speed navigation assistance, and over 160 parking scenarios.
Dongfeng officially launched the M-Hero brand on 27/8/2022, alongside two concept cars: the M-Terrain and M-Terrain S. In August 2023, M-Hero's first production model, the M-917, debuted, offering EREV and battery electric vehicle (BEV) versions.
In 2/2024, Huawei and M-Hero established a strategic partnership to promote the commercialization of Huawei's intelligent automotive solutions, helping M-Hero achieve its goal of leading the development of China's luxury off-road electric vehicle culture.
