The Geely EX5, a new electric vehicle, has garnered attention for its distinctive design and user-centric features, though it faces challenges regarding its suspension and pricing in the Vietnamese market. Evaluated by Car Awards judges in 11/2025, the EX5 presents a mixed bag of strengths and weaknesses.
One of the EX5's primary strengths lies in its unique aesthetic. The exterior boasts a rounded design with simple, curved lines, setting it apart from other electric vehicles currently available in Vietnam. Inside, the cabin features an eye-catching design complemented by premium materials, creating a comfortable experience for occupants. A large infotainment screen further enhances the user experience, providing numerous conveniences and modern technology.
From a driving perspective, the EX5 offers a light and agile feel, characteristic of an urban vehicle. This makes it suitable for city commuting and daily errands. Furthermore, owners will find it easy to locate third-party charging stations, addressing a common concern for electric vehicle users.
However, the Geely EX5 does have notable drawbacks. Its suspension system is quite soft, leading to significant body roll during sharp turns. This characteristic might make some passengers prone to motion sickness. Another significant challenge for the EX5 is its price point, which is not competitive for a Chinese model when compared to rivals in its segment.
