The accident occurred on 15/9 on National Highway 41, passing through Wiang Sa district, Surat Thani province. Dashcam footage showed an Isuzu pickup truck, its bed loaded with goods, traveling down the road. The driver took his hands off the steering wheel to roll a cigarette.
Shortly after, a tire suddenly blew out, causing the Isuzu to lose stability and veer off its path. The driver quickly returned his hands to the steering wheel but could not regain control. The pickup truck veered towards the median barrier, collided with it, and overturned. The vehicle sustained heavy damage from the impact.

At the time of the incident, other vehicles were also traveling on the road. However, the Isuzu did not collide with any other vehicle. The driver then exited the vehicle unharmed.
The vehicle owner, a cargo transport employee, stated the cause of the incident was a tire blowout. He mentioned this was the third time his vehicle had overturned this year, and he apologized to customers for not being able to complete the delivery.

National Highway 41 is a major arterial road in southern Thailand, running through Surat Thani province and part of the Asian Highway 2 (AH2). The section through Wiang Sa features multiple lanes, relatively high traffic speeds, and a concrete median barrier.
This incident highlights the importance of maintaining control and keeping a firm grip on the steering wheel at all times, especially when a vehicle unexpectedly encounters issues like a tire blowout. For vehicles carrying heavy loads, veering off course can happen very quickly, leaving drivers with little time to react.
