German automaker Porsche announced upgrades for its all-electric Cayenne line, aiming to optimize driver convenience. The automatic door feature is expected to draw significant attention. The 2027 Cayenne Electric is enhanced with numerous convenience features, including: power-operated doors, an 11 kW wireless battery charging system, massage seats with music-synchronized vibrations, and a choice of 105 exterior paint colors.

Power automatic doors

The optional doors utilize servo motors to automatically open and close after a light pull of the handle. This system can be controlled via buttons inside the cabin, the infotainment screen, exterior door handles, or through Porsche's Digital Key app.

Notably, drivers are not required to operate the doors manually. The Cayenne can automatically close the driver's side door when the seatbelt is fastened or when the brake pedal is pressed, creating a startup sensation more akin to a jet aircraft than a conventional SUV.

The automatic door system also incorporates safety features. Sensors monitor the surrounding area and halt door operation if people or obstacles are detected. This system also works with door opening warning technology to prevent doors from opening into approaching vehicles. Porsche states that the automatic mechanism can function even when the vehicle is parked on a slope, while manual operation is still maintained.

Music-synchronized vibration massage seats

The front seats of the 2027 Cayenne Electric can now be equipped with 16 air cushions and six sound transducers. This system offers five different massage programs, while the transducers generate vibrations synchronized with the audio, creating what Porsche calls a "4D" sound experience. Additionally, three extra relaxation modes combine massage, vibration, and custom-designed music tracks.

Finally, the Paint to Sample option adds 92 hues to the Cayenne Electric's 13 standard paint colors, bringing the total number of color options to 105. Porsche has not yet disclosed pricing for these convenience options.

According to the plan, the Porsche Cayenne Electric 2027 will go on sale from early 2027. Pricing will be announced closer to the delivery date.
