Honda Super Cub 50 Final Edition arrives in Vietnam

The Super Cub 50 Final Edition, the last version produced by Honda before its discontinuation, has arrived in Vietnam through private import.

On 22/7, a private enterprise in District 5, Ho Chi Minh City, introduced the Honda Super Cub 50 Final Edition to the market. This is the final version of the legendary Super Cub 50 line, which first debuted in 1966. The price for this model in Vietnam has yet to be announced.

Honda stated that the discontinuation of the Super Cub 50 is due to difficulties in meeting Japan's new emission regulations, as well as stricter global emission standards expected to take effect from 11/2025.

The Final Edition of the Super Cub comes exclusively in Bonny Blue. The design is based on the standard version but includes several special accents on the body.

The scooter still features a horizontal LED headlight with daytime running lights. The classic style is retained with the round halogen turn signals, a design from the first generation.

At the center of the front shield is the three-red-stripe emblem, reminiscent of the first generation. Accompanying it is the inscription "50 Final Edition," indicating the last version produced.

Like the standard version, the Super Cub 50 Final Edition is equipped with basic features: a mechanical key, electric start or kick start, and a traditional analog speedometer.

The 50 cc version has 17-inch spoked wheels on both the front and rear. The scooter weighs approximately 96 kg.

The scooter's key also features the three-stripe emblem and the words "Super Cub 50 Final Edition."

The fuel tank of the Super Cub 50 manufactured in Japan generally has a protective latch and is opened with a key.

The metal luggage rack is painted the same color as the body. In Japan, the Super Cub is used for daily commuting and carrying goods. In other markets, this rack can be replaced with a soft padded seat for carrying a passenger.

The taillight of the Super Cub 50 resembles that of the first generation. Honda has stated that while the Super Cub 50 is being discontinued, the Super Cub 110 will continue production.

Both the front and rear wheels of the Super Cub 50 use drum brakes. The exhaust pipe is chrome-plated.

The Honda Super Cub 50 Final Edition retains the current generation's engine: a 4-stroke, single-cylinder, air-cooled, 49 cc engine with electronic fuel injection. This engine produces 3.7 horsepower and 3.8 Nm of torque.

The Super Cub gained popularity in Vietnam from the latter half of the 1970s. Today, although no longer widely favored, this Honda motorcycle is still appreciated by a niche market for its timeless value. According to private import vehicle businesses, the Super Cub 50 Final Edition is expected to attract financially secure customers and collectors. Standard Super Cub 50 models imported from Japan currently sell for no less than 80 million VND.
