To commemorate Hello Kitty's 50th anniversary, Honda launched special editions of both the Super Cub 50 and 110 in late 2024. Both models have arrived in Vietnam through a private importer in limited quantities.
Honda first introduced the Super Cub in 1958. Hello Kitty, the fictional character created by the Japanese company Sanrio, debuted in 1974.

Hello Kitty first appeared on a coin purse in Japan. The character later gained popularity across various media and cultural platforms, becoming beloved in approximately 130 countries and territories. Hello Kitty is seen as a symbol of friendship and harmonious living.
On the Honda Super Cub 50 Hello Kitty edition, the cartoon character appears on the side panels, front shield, leather seat cover, physical key, and the analog speedometer with a digital display.
According to Sanrio, despite resembling a cat, Hello Kitty is a little girl born in a suburb of London, England. She loves her mother's apple pie. The Honda Super Cub Hello Kitty edition sports an apple-red color.
Apart from these special details, the Honda scooter retains the design and features of the standard version. It has 17-inch spoked wheels, an LED headlight with daytime running lights, and halogen turn signals and taillights. The traditional rear rack, primarily for carrying goods, is also painted red to match the body.
Both the front and rear brakes on the Super Cub 50 Hello Kitty edition are drum brakes. The scooter is powered by a 4-stroke, single-cylinder, air-cooled 49cc engine with electronic fuel injection, producing 3.7 horsepower and 3.8 Nm of torque.
According to Honda, with one rider, the 50cc Super Cub can travel approximately 105 km on one liter of fuel at a steady speed of 30 km/h, resulting in a fuel consumption of nearly 1 liter/100 km.
The Japan-imported Honda Super Cub 50 Hello Kitty edition, arriving in Vietnam in a limited batch of about 20 units, does not yet have a local price. In Japan, the scooter starts at 2,268 USD. Globally, Honda has produced only 300 Super Cub 50 Hello Kitty edition units.
