Following the global debut of the 5th generation Tucson, Hyundai unveiled the first images of the Tucson XRT, an off-road oriented variant designed for customers who enjoy outdoor adventures. The crossover was also spotted on the streets of South Korea.
Rugged new styling
Unlike standard Tucson variants, which emphasize sleek design lines, the 2027 Tucson XRT shifts towards a more angular and wilderness-inspired style.
Its wide, rectangular grille gives the front end a substantial appearance. Directly beneath the front bumper is a large skid plate, enhancing chassis protection when driving on complex terrain.

The wheel arch cladding and lower protective trim feature a textured surface inspired by high-pressure molded carbon fiber, replacing typical black plastic. Additionally, numerous dark-colored details are positioned at the front to create a contrasting accent against the main paint color.
Expanding the XRT lineup to more markets
The XRT has traditionally been a familiar off-road variant in the North American market for models like the Santa Fe and Palisade. With the 5th generation Tucson, Hyundai is introducing the XRT brand to other international markets, including its domestic market in South Korea.
Beyond the revealed front end, the comprehensive equipment package on the Tucson XRT also includes an off-road style exterior accessory kit, a rear bumper with an integrated matching skid plate, dark alloy wheels, black window surrounds, and a unique XRT logo.

The interior features unique XRT patterned seat upholstery, dark metallic trim details, full-coverage waterproof floor mats for both rows, and integrated touch-sensitive LED lights in the tailgate to assist with loading and unloading at night.
The vehicle is developed on a new platform with a wheelbase of 2,785 mm (compared to 2,755 mm for the current generation) and an overall length of 4,700 mm (compared to 4,640 mm), optimizing cargo space for camping trips.
Hyundai expects to announce detailed specifications, engine options, and the on-sale date for the new generation Tucson and the Tucson XRT variant in the coming weeks.
The upcoming Tucson will remain a pivotal model in Hyundai's U.S. product lineup, as it is the brand's best-selling vehicle in that market. It will directly compete with top-selling models like the Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V.
