On 5/7, Greenlynk Automotives, the Vietnamese distributor for Lynk & Co, introduced a new version of the Lynk & Co 06 B-segment crossover, called the Core Plus. This "streamlined" version of the 06, which debuted in mid-2024, removes some features and safety technologies, offering a more accessible price point.

The Core Plus version's differences are primarily internal. Compared to the current model, this version loses dual-zone automatic climate control, one-touch windows with anti-pinch for all 4 seats, air purification, and automatic wipers. It retains single-zone climate control and driver-side anti-pinch windows. Notably, air purification is a valuable feature in Vietnam's major cities, given their high pollution levels.
Regarding safety technology, the most significant change is the removal of the advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS). The car no longer features adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking (with pedestrian detection), forward collision warning, lane departure warning/lane keeping assist/lane change assist, automatic headlights, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, rear collision warning, and a 360-degree camera.
The 06 Core Plus retains basic safety features such as electronic stability control, hill start assist, rear parking sensors, a 90-degree rearview camera, and a speed limiter.

The vehicle retains its 1.5-liter turbocharged engine, producing 178 horsepower and 290 Nm of torque, the most powerful in its gasoline-powered segment. It also maintains the 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission. This is the second model in the mainstream B-segment (alongside the VinFast VF 6) with a multi-link (independent) rear suspension. Competitors typically use a torsion beam (dependent) setup.
The 06 Core Plus is priced at 679 million VND, while the top-of-the-line 06 Hyper Pro costs 729 million VND. This starting price is still higher than many B-segment SUVs in the Vietnamese market, such as the Mitsubishi Xforce, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq (all at 599 million VND), MG ZS (518 million VND), Geely Coolray (538 million VND), and Omoda C5 (539 million VND). With its Chinese branding and higher price, the 06 may face challenges in gaining consumer trust.
