Mitsubishi Motors Vietnam officially launched its Destinator 7-seat SUV in the domestic market on 1/12, following its global debut a few months prior. Imported from Indonesia, the Destinator is a genuine 7-seater, featuring three rows of seating, designed to expand Mitsubishi's presence in the competitive SUV segment.
The Destinator's exterior showcases Mitsubishi's dynamic shield design. Its front features a layered grille with a honeycomb pattern, covered by a transparent acrylic layer. At the rear, the Hexaguard Horizon philosophy is applied, incorporating hexagonal motifs inspired by the spare tires of Pajero models. T-shaped LED taillights complete the modern look.
Measuring 4,680 mm long, 1,840 mm wide, and 1,780 mm high, the Destinator boasts a 2,815 mm wheelbase and a 5,4 m turning radius. These dimensions confirm its true 7-seat configuration, distinguishing it from 5+2 setups. The vehicle maintains a clear SUV aesthetic, supported by 18-inch wheels and a 214 mm ground clearance, which is competitive in its segment.
Under the hood, the Destinator features a 1,5-liter MIVEC turbocharged engine. This powertrain delivers 161 horsepower and 250 Nm of peak torque, coupled with a CVT transmission. Drivers can select from five drive modes: normal, wet, mud, gravel, and tarmac. Notably, the tarmac drive mode is a new feature for Mitsubishi vehicles.
Prior to the official launch, Mitsubishi dealerships initiated pre-orders for the Destinator. These pre-orders included incentives of up to 33 million dong, offered as non-cash benefits. Mitsubishi expects the first Destinator units to be delivered to Vietnamese customers starting from 1/12.
