The incident occurred when a motorcycle rider attempted a U-turn on the Nguyen Chi Thanh overpass. At the same time, another motorcycle traveling in the same direction approached at high speed. The two motorcycles collided forcefully, causing both riders to fall onto the road. Fortunately, both individuals were able to stand up after the impact.

Traffic regulations prohibit vehicles from making U-turns on bridges. Additionally, drivers must always control their speed and maintain a safe distance to prevent unexpected situations on the road.

Decree 168/2024 stipulates that motorcycles making U-turns on bridges, which are designated no U-turn zones, will face a fine of 400,000-600,000 dong. This penalty can increase to 10-14 million dong, and 10 points will be deducted from the driver's license if the illegal U-turn causes a traffic accident.
