The infotainment screens on the affected vehicles may freeze, turn black, and then force the system to reboot. While reversing, this malfunction can disrupt the rearview camera display, causing the image to be lost, delayed, or not appear at all. This reduces driver visibility and increases the risk of collisions.
According to Ford Vietnam, the vehicles with faulty screens include both locally assembled and imported models. Specifically, 7,947 Everest SUVs were manufactured between 1/12/2021 and 11/4/2024. In addition, 2,179 Raptor pickups were produced between 26/4/2022 and 28/5/2024. Both of these models are manufactured at Ford's plant in Thailand.

The remaining 11,002 vehicles in this recall are Rangers produced between 10/8/2022 and 13/4/2024 at the Ford Hai Duong plant. Ford Vietnam stated that its authorized dealers are responsible for receiving the recalled vehicles and fixing the issue free of charge for customers.
This isn't the first time Ford has issued a large-scale recall related to display screen problems. In May, the company recalled nearly 1,000 Explorer SUVs to address issues with the rearview and 360-degree camera displays. These vehicles were imported from the US and manufactured between 20/1/2019 and 25/7/2023.
In Vietnam, the American joint venture currently sells only high-riding vehicles (CUVs/SUVs). They are assembling the Territory, a C-segment CUV, and the Ranger, a compact pickup truck. The Everest, some Ranger versions, and the Ranger Raptor line are imported from Thailand.
