Heavy rain and a slick road surface led to a high-speed Isuzu pickup truck losing control and causing a chain-reaction crash. The incident occurred in front of the Rayong Provincial Administrative Center on the morning of 22/8, injuring five people.
At the scene, the pickup truck lay overturned in the middle of the road. A 56-year-old man, the driver of a Toyota Vios that was hit, was trapped inside his car with a head laceration and bleeding. Fortunately, none of the five injured individuals sustained life-threatening injuries.
Two other vehicles were involved: a Honda HR-V equipped with a dashcam and another Toyota. A motorcyclist was also involved in the collision. Initial investigations revealed that the 33-year-old pickup truck driver was rushing to work and speeding on the wet road, leading to the loss of control.
Authorities urged drivers, especially during the rainy season when roads are slippery, to reduce speed, drive cautiously, and maintain a safe distance.
