The victim was identified as a police officer from Surat city. The Delhi-Mumbai highway is a key corridor connecting major cities.

Investigators are considering factors that may have led to the collision. These include the hatchback's speed and the bus driver's actions, such as a lane change, which could have left the police officer with no time to react.
