Honda Vietnam launches UC3 electric motorcycle for sale

The UC3 electric motorcycle officially goes on sale from 26/6, with Honda Vietnam simultaneously operating a battery charging station system in major cities.

According to Honda Vietnam, this launch marks a new step in its electric motorcycle ecosystem development strategy, aiming for a green transition and sustainable development. The UC3 is a premium electric motorcycle, featuring a minimalist, futuristic design.

The UC3 features an electric motor delivering 8 horsepower and 22 Nm of torque, with three riding modes: standard, sport, and econ. It achieves a top speed of 82 km/h. Its 3,17 kWh LFP battery meets IP67 waterproofing and UNR136 safety standards, offering a range of approximately 120 km on a full charge.

Other technologies on this electric motorcycle include: a combined braking system (cbs), reverse mode, a 5-inch tft screen integrated with honda roadsync app connectivity, bluetooth, and navigation. It features a smartkey system, a 26-liter storage compartment, and a type C charging port. Honda states that the included charger adheres to the international CHAdeMO standard for two-wheelers, enabling a 20% to 80% battery charge in approximately 2 hours.

From 26/6, the Honda UC3 will be available through the company's network of 83 HEAD electric vehicle dealerships across 20 provinces and cities. It comes in two versions, Standard and Special, with suggested retail prices starting from 78,5 million VND and 79,9 million VND, respectively. During the initial launch phase, Honda is offering an incentive equivalent to 22 million VND per vehicle, reducing the actual selling price to 56,5-57,9 million VND. The vehicle includes a 3-year unlimited mileage warranty. The battery is covered by a 2-year warranty, extendable by one year if users adhere to standard periodic maintenance schedules.

Honda is also introducing installment plans with interest rates starting from 0,55% per month (approximately 196,000 VND). This is coupled with a trade-in program at HEAD dealerships and a policy to repurchase UC3 vehicles within three years. Customers who purchase the vehicle in the first two months will receive a complimentary roadside assistance card, valid for the first year.

Expanding charging infrastructure and support ecosystem

Alongside the UC3 launch, Honda Vietnam is deploying the Honda Motor Charger Hub system at its electric vehicle HEAD dealerships in Ha Noi and TP HCM. These charging stations offer 1,200 W per charging port, and users can register and pay via Honda's dedicated application. The charging fee is 7,020 VND.

A Honda Vietnam representative stated that the company will launch a series of experiential activities from now until 2027. These initiatives, including test drives, exhibitions, and community events, aim to introduce the electric vehicle lineup to a broader audience. Users in Ha Noi or TP HCM can register for a free seven-day vehicle experience.

"Honda will continue to expand its electric motorcycle portfolio, investing in charging and battery-swapping systems to complete the pure electric transportation ecosystem in Vietnam", a company representative said.
