Porsche has launched the 2026 911 Carrera 4S, first in the US market. This latest iteration of the 911, part of the improved 992.2 generation, combines the upgraded powertrain of the S model with all-wheel drive and several new features.
Available as a Coupe, Cabriolet, and Targa, the 2026 911 Carrera 4S bridges the gap between the rear-wheel-drive Carrera S and the all-wheel-drive GTS. According to Porsche, nearly 50% of US S model buyers opt for all-wheel drive, making the 4S a key model.

The exterior of the Carrera 4S shares new design elements, such as a reshaped front bumper and standard new headlight clusters with matrix LED technology. Inside, the Coupe offers a choice of two or four-seat configurations at no extra cost. However, the Cabriolet and Targa come standard with rear seats.
The key upgrade for the 2026 911 Carrera 4S lies under the rear hood, with a tuned 3.0 liter twin-turbocharged flat-six engine producing 473 horsepower and 528 Nm of torque. This output matches that of the Carrera S and represents a 30 horsepower increase over the pre-upgrade Carrera 4S.
The new engine is paired with an 8-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission and sends power to all four wheels via Porsche's rear-biased PTM traction management system. The setup includes a water-cooled front differential and an electromechanically controlled clutch for precise power distribution.
Beyond the engine tuning, Porsche has added a sports exhaust system with silver tailpipes and brakes from the previous-generation GTS as standard equipment. Improved shock absorbers are also part of the upgrade. Options include the Sport Chrono package, PASM sports suspension with a lower ride height, rear-axle steering (standard on the Targa 4S), and ceramic composite brakes.
With the Sport Chrono package, the Carrera 4S accelerates from 0 to 96 km/h in 3.1 seconds and reaches a top speed of 307 km/h, 0.2 seconds faster than the Carrera S and just 0.2 seconds slower than the GTS.
The first deliveries of the 2026 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S are scheduled for late 2025 in the US. Pricing will be announced closer to the delivery date.
