Similar to previous years, the jury assesses car models launched between 12/2024 and 11/2025, including those launched in 11/2024 but available on the market by 12/2024. Car of the Year titles are awarded only to segments that introduced at least three new models during this period. This year features eight segments: B/B+ class low-clearance cars, B-class crossovers, C-class crossovers, D-class SUV/crossovers, small popular MPVs, small luxury high-clearance cars, mid-size luxury low-clearance cars, and sports cars.

The Overall Car of the Year is the ultimate award of Car Awards 2025. It is chosen from the top-ranked models in the categorized segments, as well as models from unranked segments (those with only one or two new car launches during the year). The jury casts votes based on specific criteria: alignment with the award's theme, trend relevance, ability to inspire consumer demand, customer accessibility within the segment, and the product's superiority within its category.

Beyond the main awards, Car Awards 2025 may also feature additional accolades such as the most impressive performance car, most impressive design car, and the brand with the best service system. These are selected through votes from the organizers, expert council, and readers.

The Car Awards 2025 is held concurrently with the Vietnam Mobility Show 2025, organized by VnExpress. This three-day event, from 26-28/12, also takes place at the Vietnam Exhibition Center in Hanoi. It brings together 13 car and motorcycle brands, along with various accessory and car care brands.

The Car of the Year Gala, commencing at 5 PM on 26/12, will feature singer Hoang Hai. He will perform two songs, "Tim lai" and "Hoang hon thang 8", expressing passion and enthusiasm.
