VinFast electric vehicles get free battery charging until 2029

VinFast electric car owners will receive three years of free battery charging, while electric scooter owners will get over two years of free battery swaps at V-Green stations, starting 9/2.

VinFast is offering electric vehicle users promotions, following its "Fiercely for a Green Future" campaign and to celebrate the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year. Individual electric car owners who purchase a vehicle from 10/2 will receive free battery charging nationwide until 10/2/2029, with a maximum of 10 charges a month. According to the company, this number of charges is equivalent to driving 1,500 to 5,000 km a month, which is the average usage for a typical user today.

Drivers who purchase vehicles for exclusive business operations on the Xanh SM Platform will receive unlimited free battery charging. VinFast will cover the first 10 charges each month, and GSM will cover the remaining charges. For those who purchased a vehicle before 10/2/2026, the total free charging period will be extended to three years from the date of vehicle receipt, with a maximum of 10 times a month for individual owners, and unlimited charges for drivers registered for exclusive business operations on the Xanh SM Platform.

For pioneering users who purchased vehicles in the initial phase and still meet the conditions for various policies issued at different times, VinFast will apply the policy most beneficial to the user.

In addition to electric car incentives, VinFast electric scooter users (upcoming) will receive free battery swaps, up to 20 times a month, equivalent to traveling 800 km a month, valid until 30/6/2028. Electric scooter drivers operating exclusively on the Xanh SM Platform will receive unlimited free battery swaps; VinFast will cover 20 times a month, with GSM supporting the rest.

A VinFast representative stated that through this Lunar New Year gift, the company aims to reduce user costs, create motivation, and remove barriers, giving people the opportunity to switch to new pure electric vehicle lines.

"The nationwide free battery charging policy for cars and battery swaps for electric scooters is a Binh Ngo Spring gift the company wants to send to customers. With the trust and support of many users, VinFast made strong breakthroughs in 2025, becoming the number one automaker in Vietnam's electric car and electric scooter market," said Duong Thi Thu Trang, Vice General Director of Global Automotive Sales, VinFast.

Beyond this policy, the Vietnamese automaker is implementing a series of incentives, including: zero down payment installments, offering 6-10% off the price of electric cars and scooters, and market-leading official warranty coverage.

By the end of 2025, VinFast electric car sales accounted for approximately 30% of the entire industry, with 175,099 units delivered, a record in the more than 30 years of Vietnam's automotive industry. In the electric scooter segment, the company delivered 406,453 units in 2025, ranking second in the entire Vietnamese market, a 473% increase compared to 2024.
