While the average vehicle has an 8.6% chance of reaching 250,000 miles (402,336 km), a new iSeeCars.com study identifies the 30 longest-lasting models, all with significantly higher odds of hitting that milestone.
The top-ranked vehicles, the Toyota Tundra and Sequoia, are four times more likely to reach 250,000 miles. The Toyota Tacoma, 4Runner, Highlander Hybrid, and Honda Ridgeline are three times more likely than average to reach the same mileage.

This year's study analyzed over 402 million vehicles to determine which have the greatest potential to last at least 250,000 miles. SUVs dominate the list, occupying 16 of the 30 spots, with Toyota leading the pack with 9 models. The most durable vehicle, the Toyota Tundra, has a 36.6% chance of reaching 250,000 miles.
"Modern vehicles are increasingly durable, with 30 models having between a 12% and 36% chance of reaching 250,000 miles," says iSeeCars Executive Analyst Karl Brauer. "Many consumers assume a vehicle's useful life ends at 100,000 miles (160,934 km), but our latest study confirms 200,000 miles isn't out of reach for many models. The top 9 vehicles on this year's list have a greater than 20% chance of reaching 250,000 miles."

SUVs make up over half the list. Four are Toyotas, but Chevrolet, GMC, Honda, and Nissan each have at least two SUVs represented.
Pickup trucks also feature prominently, with six full-size/light-duty and two midsize models. iSeeCars separated heavy-duty pickups from the main list, but those models are ranked separately.
While SUVs and pickups prevail, four sedans and a hatchback also appear, two of which are hybrids. These demonstrate that consumers don't need the higher initial and running costs of trucks or SUVs to enjoy vehicle longevity.
"With the rising costs of both new and used cars, it's encouraging to see so many vehicles capable of 250,000 miles. Consumers, despite paying higher purchase prices, can still see a relatively low cost per mile if they take advantage of this longevity," Brauer states.
Analyzing by brand, Toyota, Honda, Ram, GMC, Chevrolet, Lexus, and Ford all exceed the average likelihood of reaching 250,000 miles. Many of these brands offer multiple lines of pickups and three-row SUVs, contributing to higher average lifetime mileage across their lineups. Toyota and Honda rank highest with full lines of cars, pickups, and SUVs, while brands like Ram and GMC focus on pickups and utility vehicles.
iSeeCars analyzed data from over 402 million vehicles. The average mileage for each vehicle was calculated by age, and a model based on this average mileage was developed to estimate the likelihood of each vehicle surviving to various mileage thresholds.
