On a busy Hanoi street, two men on a motorcycle, neither wearing a helmet, drove against the flow of traffic. A car with a dashcam was forced to stop as the motorcyclists blocked its path.
Driving against traffic is illegal and creates a safety hazard for everyone on the road. This is especially dangerous during rush hour as it can cause congestion. Additionally, helmets are mandatory for motorcyclists.
Decree 168/2024 stipulates a fine of 4-6 million VND for driving a motorcycle against traffic. The same decree imposes a fine of 400,000-600,000 VND for motorcyclists not wearing helmets.
