Japanese motorcycle manufacturer Yamaha has introduced the Neo's 2026 version to the Vietnam market. Without a grand launch event, the new version makes its mark with a price adjustment and upgraded color options, aiming to boost competitiveness in the increasingly crowded entry-level electric scooter segment.
While its predecessor was listed at 50 million dong, the Neo's 2026 has seen a price reduction to 36,9 million dong. With a decrease of nearly 13 million dong from the previous generation, the Neo's 2026 boasts the largest price reduction among Yamaha's popular product lineup in Vietnam.

The new Neo's is priced at 36,9 million dong, a reduction of 13,1 million dong from the previous model.
This price adjustment is more than just a sales strategy; it sends a clear message from Yamaha: The company is ready to deepen its engagement in the entry-level electric scooter segment, a market currently dominated by brands such as VinFast, Dat Bike, Yadea, and Honda.
The Neo's 2026 retains its "Jin-Ki Kanno EV" (rider and machine as one) design philosophy, characterized by a minimalist exterior and a dynamic, personal style well-suited for active urban youth.
Yamaha's electric scooter is powered by a rear-wheel electric motor delivering 2,6 horsepower and 43,5 Nm of torque. Its 23,2 Ah lithium-ion battery provides an operating range of 72 km on a full charge. This removable battery allows for external charging, and an additional secondary battery can be installed to extend the range. Standard charging time from 0-100% is 9 hours.
The new Neo's 2026 offers five color options, an increase from the three available in the previous version. Standard features include an led lighting system, an lcd screen displaying vehicle information, and smartphone connectivity via the Y-Connect application. The front storage compartment includes a usb charging port, and under-seat storage holds personal items. The scooter is equipped with a front disc brake, a rear drum brake, and 13-inch cast wheels.
In the approximate 40 million dong price range, the Neo's faces formidable competitors such as the VinFast Vero X, priced at 34,9 million dong (including one battery), or the VinFast Viper without a battery at 39,9 million dong, the Yadea Voltguard at 38,9 million dong, and the Honda CUV e: at 45 million dong (excluding two batteries).
The Neo's first launched in late 2022 and became available for sale in march 2023, marking it as a pioneering electric scooter model in the Vietnam market. The vehicle is assembled domestically.
The quiet launch of the Yamaha Neo's 2026, coupled with its price adjustment, indicates that the company has learned valuable lessons from its initial phase. Previously, the 50 million dong price point for the Neo's created a barrier, making Yamaha's electric scooter less accessible to the mainstream customer segment. With the new price, the Neo's will be more approachable and competitive against its rivals.
