Young man crashes motorbike into bus at intersection

Not wearing a helmet and speeding, a young man cut in front of a bus on 27/7 in Ninh Truc.

The incident occurred at an intersection where a motorcyclist, not wearing a helmet, sped straight through as a bus approached from a perpendicular direction. The bus driver was unable to react in time, striking the motorcyclist. The extent of any injuries is currently unknown.

Road safety experts emphasize that all vehicles must reduce speed when approaching intersections, especially when entering a main road from a side road. Additionally, motorcyclists are required to wear helmets, which serve as the final line of defense for head protection in the event of a collision. Decree 168/2024 mandates fines of 600,000-800,000 VND for individuals not wearing a helmet.

Similarly, oto drivers approaching intersections or exits must also reduce their speed. If visibility is obstructed, drivers should use their horn to alert those emerging from side roads. In unexpected situations, it is crucial to maintain a straight steering wheel and apply full braking force. Swerving into the opposite lane to avoid an obstacle could lead to more serious accidents for other road users.
