A dashboard camera captured the dangerous act of a young man operating a motorbike with his feet, highlighting a serious traffic violation. This incident, which occurred on 26/11 in Ho Thi Huong, Long Khanh, involved the driver neglecting to wear a helmet and using only his right foot to steer the vehicle, often swerving erratically.
For a significant stretch of road, the young man continued his reckless driving, even navigating a busy intersection using only his feet. This dangerous maneuver persisted until he dropped an item, forcing him to stop.
Vietnamese traffic law mandates that motorcyclists must wear helmets, control their vehicles with both hands, and maintain full awareness of road conditions. The actions demonstrated in the video not only jeopardize the driver's own life but also pose a significant risk of accidents for other road users.
Under Decree 168/2024, individuals found operating a motorbike hands-free or using their feet face severe penalties. These include the confiscation of the vehicle and a driver's license suspension ranging from 22 to 24 months. Additionally, driving a motorbike without a helmet incurs a fine of 400.000 to 600.000 dong.
