A car was making a U-turn in the middle of the road. Instead of slowing down and waiting, a young motorcyclist leaned and swerved into the oncoming lane to continue. An oncoming motorbike, taken by surprise, collided with the first motorbike. The impact knocked the young man down, and his motorbike flipped, landing on the other rider. Fortunately, both motorcyclists were able to stand up after the collision.
When encountering a car making a U-turn and occupying a large portion of the road, motorcyclists should reduce speed from a distance instead of trying to weave through. Crucially, avoid encroaching on the oncoming lane or swerving abruptly into it, as seen with the young man in the video. This action surprises oncoming vehicles. Oncoming vehicles typically lack reaction time when another vehicle suddenly appears from behind a turning car. The turning car obstructs the view for both oncoming motorbikes.
When braking, apply both front and rear brakes to reduce speed without skidding. Always maintain a sufficient distance from the vehicle ahead to allow ample time and space for reaction if they stop suddenly or change direction.
