Song Hau Offshore Wind Power Joint Stock Company, established on 20/6 with a charter capital of 2,000 billion VND, is headquartered in Can Tho city and specializes in wind and solar power production, according to its registration on the National Business Registration Portal.
In terms of shareholder structure, Hoa Phat Group and KVS Investment Joint Stock Company are the two largest investors, each holding 30% of the capital. Billionaire Tran Dinh Long, Chairman of Hoa Phat, also contributed 400 billion VND to the company, securing a 20% stake.
Forbes estimates Tran Dinh Long's current net worth at 2,6 billion USD, placing him 1,600th worldwide. He directly holds 1,9 billion HPG shares, representing 25,8% of Hoa Phat's capital.
Tran Dang Khoa, born in 1970, serves as Chairman and General Director of Song Hau Offshore Wind Power. He also holds a 20% ownership stake in the company.
Hoa Phat previously invested in power projects primarily for its own facilities. For instance, at the Dung Quat Iron and Steel Production Complex, the company allocated 600 billion VND for a 79,2 MWp rooftop solar power project.
Despite this new venture, Hoa Phat has not yet formally announced a strategy to expand into the renewable energy sector. While the group operates in diverse fields including real estate, agriculture, container manufacturing, and household appliances, steel production remains its core business, accounting for over 95% of its revenue.
In April, Tran Dinh Long indicated the company's continued expansion and deep investment in the steel sector. Hoa Phat also plans to develop its real estate segment, prioritizing projects in prime locations with reasonable pricing that meet genuine market demand.
