Le Nu Thuy Duong, Deputy Chairwoman of the Board of Directors and General Director of Long Thanh Golf Investment and Business Joint Stock Company, is the only entrepreneur elected to both the National Assembly and the Dong Nai Provincial People's Council for the new term.
National Assembly delegates represent the will and aspirations of the people, exercising legislative, supervisory, and decision-making powers over important national issues. They have the right to question the President, Chairman of the National Assembly, Prime Minister, members of the Government, Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court, Procurator General of the Supreme People's Procuracy, and State Auditor General.
Speaking to VnExpress, Doctor Le Duy Binh, Director of Economica Viet Nam, stated that the increased number of entrepreneurs elected to the National Assembly, compared to the previous term, shows voters' strong interest in economic development, enterprise growth, and goals to improve the business and investment environment. "Voters expect entrepreneurs, as elected representatives, to contribute to promoting economic and public governance policies", Doctor Binh shared.
This increase in entrepreneurs participating in the National Assembly is also consistent with the spirit of Resolution 68 on private economic development and other recent Party resolutions, according to the economic expert. "This presence enhances the role of businesses as the economy prepares to transition into a new era", Mr. Binh added.
He assessed that entrepreneurs will shoulder greater responsibility in conveying the wishes of voters and the business community into specific economic policies and operational work, helping to improve the overall situation.
According to the Director of Economica Viet Nam, as the country sets ambitious development goals, entrepreneurs must bring practical issues and difficulties faced by the economy and businesses, from a governance and operational perspective, to the National Assembly. They also need to use their management knowledge and close ties with the business community to contribute to developing legal normative documents, thereby improving the quality of legal regulations through the practical activities of the National Assembly. Additionally, delegates who are entrepreneurs must prioritize their supervisory role to enhance the investment and business environment for optimal effectiveness for businesses.
