Cold-Link Logistics recently announced plans for a major expansion and upgrade of its multi-temperature cold storage facility in Providence, Rhode Island, US. The company, one of the top 10 private cold storage platforms in North America, will add approximately 6,040 square meters of freezer space to its existing 5,950 square meters facility, bringing the total size to nearly 12,000 square meters.
Upon completion, Cold-Link will add 13,500 new frozen pallet positions, increasing total capacity to 18,000 pallets. The renovation project includes a more efficient cooling system, an expanded loading dock area from 14 to 17 doors, and a new fire suppression system. Additionally, about 280 square meters of ambient temperature space will be converted into freezer storage.

The expanded facility is expected to serve over 15 million consumers in nearby urban areas, meet the needs of large-scale tenants, and create additional jobs. Construction is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of this year and is projected for completion in early 2027.
Michael Mandich, President and Operating Partner at Cold-Link, stated that the project demonstrates the company's confidence in the increasing demand for high-quality cold storage services, amidst ongoing changes in the supply chain. The Providence facility plays a pivotal role in the Northeast regional network, and nearly doubling its capacity will help Cold-Link strengthen its ability to provide stable, long-term service.
