Construction begins on 214-hectare industrial park in Quang Tri

The Tay Bac Ho Xa Industrial Park in Vinh Linh commune, spanning over 214 hectares and with a total investment of 1,250 billion VND, broke ground on 19/8.

Developed by Amber Industrial Parks, the project is part of the activities celebrating 80 years of National Day. The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by local leaders, representatives of departments, investors, construction units, and partners.

The Tay Bac Ho Xa Industrial Park is designed to accommodate a range of industries such as textiles, footwear, wood processing, food production, and warehousing. It boasts a strategic location with direct connections to both National Highways 1A and 9D, proximity to the North-South railway, and is approximately 60 km from My Thuy deep-water port. In the future, it will also benefit from the Quang Tri Airport, forming a "water-air-land" transportation triangle for the region.

In addition to its connectivity, the project also features modern and synchronized infrastructure. The internal road system is planned with a main axis of 30-45m wide and branch axes of 13-19.5m wide. A wastewater treatment plant with a separate hazardous waste storage area is also included. The industrial park also has a drainage system, a standard power and clean water supply, and a full range of other technical support services.

According to Nguyen Thi Nga, a representative of the investor, the development of the industrial park not only aims to attract capital but also demonstrates a long-term commitment to the province's sustainable development goals, creating jobs and adding value to the community.

This event takes place as Quang Tri and Quang Binh have recently merged administratively, expanding the development space and setting the goal of becoming a comprehensive economic center of the North Central region.

The province is focusing on boosting public investment, developing border gate-seaport-airport-highway infrastructure, and accelerating the in-depth economic restructuring process. Projects such as My Thuy seaport, the international intermodal railway, Quang Tri Airport, and the North-South highway are driving industrial development.

The province also possesses abundant natural resources, including large timber plantations, minerals, wind energy, and hydropower, along with a plentiful labor force at competitive costs, suitable for developing deep processing, export, and domestic consumption production industries.

According to statistics, Quang Tri's economic growth in the first 6 months of 2025 is estimated at about 28,560 billion VND, an increase of 7.48%. The province has 28 valid FDI projects with a total capital of nearly 2.8 billion USD.

Nguyen Thi Nga, a representative of the investor, stated that the Tay Bac Ho Xa Industrial Park represents a long-term commitment to Quang Tri province. "We believe that the sustainable development of the industrial park will go hand in hand with the province's strategic direction, contributing to job creation, attracting capital flows, and spreading value to the local community," Nga said.

The Tay Bac Ho Xa Industrial Park is expected to be a destination for both domestic and foreign businesses, especially as many investors from South Korea, Japan, Thailand, and Europe are exploring opportunities in central Vietnam.

"With its strategic location, competitive costs, and sustainable development orientation, the Tay Bac Ho Xa Industrial Park, in conjunction with Quang Tri province, opens up the potential for a new production and export hub in the North Central region," the representative affirmed.
