Entrepreneur Thai Van Linh shares insights on profitability trends

Episode 4 of the "Smart Money, Smart Life: Leading Profitability Trends" vodcast offers Thai Van Linh's perspective on managing personal cash flow to ensure every dollar operates flexibly and generates additional value.

"Smart Money, Smart Life - Leading Profitability Trends" is a new vodcast series produced by VnExpress in collaboration with Vietnam International Bank (VIB). The program, comprising four episodes, presents real stories about how modern individuals perceive the concept of "profitability," not just through numbers, but also through spiritual, emotional, and experiential value.

The vodcast series concludes with a conversation featuring entrepreneur Thai Van Linh. Over 20 minutes, Linh provides sharp insights into cash flow management and investment trends, sharing methods to transform every dollar into a profit-generating tool. She also analyzes strategies to optimize long-term value for both personal and business finances.

According to financial expert Thai Van Linh, the real value of money is quietly declining due to depreciation and inflation, even if the account balance remains unchanged. This means many people believe they are "saving money," but in reality, their capital is gradually losing its purchasing power.

Observing current personal cash flow trends, Linh notes two significant patterns: a large amount of capital is awaiting investment opportunities, reflecting investor caution; simultaneously, much idle money remains in checking accounts, intended for spending but not yet utilized. These represent "stagnant periods" between saving, spending, and investing, which financial institutions can leverage to create earning opportunities, optimizing the value of every dollar for customers.

Linh believes that by understanding how money operates, individuals will learn to make money work for them, instead of just working to earn money. For the entrepreneur, financial management does not begin with numbers, but with an operational mindset. "What matters is not how much capital you have, but how you are using it, where it is going, and what value it is creating," she states.

Drawing from her experience in investment and business operations, Thai Van Linh suggests that a flexible financial mindset is key for both individuals and organizations to achieve sustainable growth. For individuals, the fundamental principle is categorizing cash flow. The entrepreneur advises everyone to clearly separate funds for spending, saving, investing, and emergency reserves.

One model Linh highly regards is VIB's Profit-Making Duo, which combines the Super Yield account with the VIB Smart Card global payment card. The surplus funds in the payment account automatically earn up to 4,3% annually, while remaining flexibly available for spending. Additionally, spending via the card offers up to a 5% cashback. "This is a very practical dual-profit model: your savings earn, and your spending continues to create value," she observes.

Entrepreneur Thai Van Linh possesses 20 years of experience in finance, marketing, and operations. She has held many important positions at venture capital funds and large corporations. Before returning to Vietnam to start her career, Linh lived and worked in the US. At the peak of her career, she returned to the starting line to launch TVL Group.
