Since early August, EVNHANOI has developed detailed power supply plans for each event location, a representative stated. Hundreds of power sector employees are working day and night at Ba Dinh Square, Hoan Kiem Lake, My Dinh National Stadium, the Hanoi Opera House, and the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum. They are coordinating with organizers to inspect systems, test equipment, and finalize backup plans.

In addition to supplying power from the main grid, EVNHANOI has also installed uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) and backup generators at key locations to ensure smooth operation. "We understand that even a minor incident can affect the program's progress and quality. Therefore, we are always prepared, with contingency plans for any unexpected situations," said Pham Van Thai, an employee of Power Management Team 1, Ba Dinh Power Company.
Besides cultural and artistic venues, EVNHANOI is also focusing on ensuring power for decorative lighting projects, central streets, billboards, and LED screens for publicity. Inspections and maintenance were meticulously carried out days in advance, and emergency response teams were strengthened throughout the event period.

On the afternoon of 28/8, Nguyen Anh Tuan, general director of EVN, directly inspected the power supply preparations for the celebratory events. The delegation visited key locations such as Ba Dinh Square and the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum to assess the situation.
At these locations, the EVN general director received detailed reports from EVNHANOI leaders and related units about operational plans, emergency response scenarios, and backup capabilities. The preparation of supplementary power sources from generators and UPS systems, along with 24/7 technical staff, was emphasized to ensure a safe and continuous power supply throughout the events.

According to Mr. Tuan, the unit has completed grid inspections throughout the area and supplemented backup materials and equipment. From 26/8 to 3/9, EVNHANOI aims to provide safe and stable power, avoiding interruptions to high, medium, and low-voltage grids, especially in areas hosting festivals, parades, artistic performances, and receptions for domestic and international guests. The unit is currently implementing power supply plans for about 40 major events during this period.
EVNHANOI has also closely coordinated with the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Command, the event organizing committee, and local authorities to agree on operational scenarios and assign specific personnel to each location. Public awareness campaigns on electrical safety have also been intensified to minimize the risk of incidents originating from outside the system.

At the meeting, EVNHANOI also conducted a drill simulating a grid power outage at Ba Dinh Square. When the simulated signal was given, technical personnel immediately took their positions, and operational teams quickly identified the affected area. The backup generator and UPS system automatically activated, ensuring continuous power to the key area. The workers coordinated seamlessly: some inspected equipment, others monitored parameters, and others worked on the grid to isolate the problem and restore power. The situation was resolved quickly, and the power supply was stabilized.
The exercise not only verified the effectiveness of the response plan but also trained the calmness and precision of each member on duty, ensuring EVNHANOI's readiness for any real-life scenario.
"The 80th National Day celebration on 2/9 is a major political and cultural event for the country and a source of pride for the capital. Therefore, the power supply must be absolutely safe and stable, without any errors that could affect the overall success," the EVN general director emphasized.
