Fast Logistics opens new warehouse, strengthens Mindanao supply chain

The Opol warehouse shortens goods transit times, expands storage capacity, and supports businesses in Cagayan de Oro and neighboring provinces.

Fast Logistics Group has commenced operations at its new warehouse in Opol, Misamis Oriental province, expanding its logistics presence in Northern Mindanao and supporting distribution activities for businesses in the region.

The Opol warehouse is located approximately 30 minutes from Cagayan de Oro city and 25 km from Laguindingan Airport. This facility offers 1,8 hectares of leasable warehouse space, with potential for an additional 5 hectares, bringing the total land area to 6 hectares. The warehouse features high ceilings, allowing for multi-tiered pallet stacking, flexible shelving arrangements, and a 1,2 m high loading dock system, which facilitates faster, safer, and more efficient inbound and outbound goods handling.

According to Fast, the facility was constructed with sustainability and operational stability in mind, capable of withstanding natural disaster risks such as floods or earthquakes.

The Opol warehouse expands Fast's network to over 2 million square meters of warehousing across more than 150 locations throughout the Philippines, making it the largest in the country. The company currently operates approximately one million dry pallet positions and 30.000 cold storage pallet positions.

Previously, Fast operated three warehouses in Misamis Oriental, including Bulua, Tagoloan, and Casinglot, to serve customers in the region.

Manuel Onrejas Jr, General Manager of Fast Logistics, stated that the new warehouse demonstrates the company's long-term commitment to Cagayan de Oro and Mindanao, a region considered a crucial growth driver for Philippine commerce.

According to Onrejas, the strategic location of the Opol warehouse not only serves Misamis Oriental but also supports distribution to Bukidnon, Misamis Occidental, Lanao del Norte, Camiguin, and neighboring provinces in the Agusan region.

The facility is designed for flexibility, capable of operating as an outsourced distribution center for large enterprises in the consumer goods, retail, manufacturing, and agricultural sectors. Small and medium-sized enterprises can also access services through a pay-per-pallet, per-day billing model. Warehouse operations are supported by Fast's warehouse management system (WMS), which enables real-time inventory tracking, ensuring accuracy in order processing and optimizing operations.

Aron Javier, Head of Warehouse Solutions at Fast, believes the new facility addresses the growing demand for flexible storage space in Mindanao, while also creating jobs and skill development opportunities for local workers.

Fast Logistics Group is a leading integrated logistics provider in the Philippines, offering warehousing, transportation, and supply chain solutions nationwide, serving various sectors from consumer goods and retail to agriculture and manufacturing.
