The Ministry of Industry and Trade reported that the global fuel market was influenced by factors including the US's temporary import tax policy and US-Iran tensions.
Global fuel prices showed an upward trend compared to the previous period. The average price of RON 95 gasoline rose by 6.5% to 80.6 USD per barrel. Diesel also became 4.5% more expensive, with mazut increasing by 1.8%.
Data from the Ministry of Industry and Trade shows that by the end of 2025, the market will comprise 26 primary fuel businesses and five aviation fuel suppliers. There are 252 active fuel distribution businesses. This represents a reduction of two primary traders and 24 distribution traders compared to 2024.
Last year, fuel consumption reached approximately 26.4 million cubic meters or tons, marking a 1.85% increase from 2024. Year-end inventory stood at 1.7 million cubic meters or tons.
For this year, the minimum fuel supply allocated to primary businesses totals 31.7 million cubic meters or tons. The Ministry of Industry and Trade anticipates that the global political and economic landscape remains unpredictable, potentially affecting fuel supply and prices. Regulators will therefore closely monitor domestic and international fuel prices and supply-demand dynamics. They will also collaborate with ministries, agencies, and localities to recommend timely solutions to the government.
