Masterise Aviation Infrastructure Joint Stock Company (MAI) and Yamato Transport have formalized a partnership to explore and develop integrated air logistics models at Gia Binh international airport. The signing ceremony took place on 8/10 in Hanoi.
The event was attended by representatives from the Mobile Police Command, the Foreign Relations Department under the Ministry of Public Security, alongside leaders from both companies.
Under the memorandum of understanding, MAI and Yamato Transport will investigate cooperation opportunities across logistics, cargo transportation, and supporting infrastructure for Gia Binh international airport. Both parties plan to establish a joint working group to evaluate the feasibility, commercial effectiveness, and legal aspects, laying the groundwork for future projects.
Initially, the two companies will concentrate on researching value-added logistics models for goods requiring specialized handling. They will also develop multimodal transport solutions aimed at enhancing connectivity between Gia Binh airport and key production centers, commercial hubs, and potential markets in the region.

This collaboration is expected to grant MAI access to Yamato Transport's extensive logistics operational experience and distribution networks in Japan and across Asia. By combining this expertise with MAI's capabilities in aviation infrastructure development, both parties aim to innovate new logistics models and contribute to establishing a comprehensive service ecosystem at Gia Binh international airport.
In the medium and long term, MAI and Yamato Transport will continue to identify opportunities for developing an airport-linked logistics ecosystem. Their goal is to position Gia Binh as a high value-added logistics hub in Southeast Asia.
The partnership comes as Gia Binh international airport accelerates its infrastructure development in preparation for APEC 2027 and its subsequent commercial operation phase. Concurrently with expanding its partner network, the project is focusing on developing operational capabilities, training personnel, and implementing pilot programs.

MAI's leadership indicated that Gia Binh airport's development strategy extends beyond aviation transport infrastructure. It aims to establish an aviation economic center that integrates passenger and cargo transportation with manufacturing, trade, and high-value services.
Beyond fostering international cooperation, Gia Binh international airport is expediting infrastructure completion, preparing operational readiness, training personnel, and conducting pilot programs to meet the service requirements for APEC 2027.
