On the morning of 6/3, Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC) listed gold bar prices at 179.5 - 182.5 million dong per tael, a decrease of 2.2 million dong compared to yesterday. Other brands made similar adjustments. The spread between buying and selling prices was 3 million dong.
Plain gold rings from SJC also fell by 2 million dong, trading at 179.2 - 182.2 million dong. PNJ, Doji, and Bao Tin Manh Hai traded this item around 179.5 - 182.5 million dong.
Meanwhile, Mi Hong sold plain gold rings at the same price as the aforementioned brands but bought them for 500,000 dong more. This item at Bao Tin Minh Chau was listed at 180 - 183 million dong.
Domestic gold prices declined in line with the global market. At the close of trading on 6/3, spot gold fell nearly 60 USD, reaching 5,080 USD per ounce. However, by this morning's session, gold prices had recovered by nearly 32 USD to 5,113 USD.
International gold, converted at Vietcombank's exchange rate, was equivalent to 161.5 million dong, a difference of about 21 million dong compared to domestic prices. This gap between world and domestic gold has widened from 20 million dong at the start of the week.
The market downturn erased previous gains as a stronger US dollar put pressure on prices. The DXY, an index measuring the dollar's strength, rose by 0.5% yesterday. Additionally, the yield on US 10-year treasury bonds climbed to a three-week high, also negatively impacting gold prices.

Bart Melek, Head of Global Commodity Strategy at TD Securities, noted that investors are anticipating rising oil prices and the potential for inflation. He added that increasing treasury yields are not a good sign for gold.
However, Melek believes gold still has fundamental support factors, as the market anticipates evidence of a growing US budget deficit and various uncertainties.
Silver bars and ingots remained unchanged today. Phu Quy Gold Investment JSC listed this item at 3.15 - 3.25 million dong per tael. Converted to kilograms, silver bar prices were 84.2 - 96.8 million dong. Doji traded this metal at 3.17 - 3.28 million dong, while Sacombank - SBJ quoted it at 3.24 - 3.34 million dong.
