Google and Apple are seeking digital asset specialists. Specifically, Google Cloud is recruiting an industry principal architect in Hong Kong. This role involves collaborating with protocol development organizations, exchanges, custodians, and financial institutions to tokenize real-world assets (RWA) across the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region.
The position requires experience in blockchain networks, smart contracts, stablecoin infrastructure, tokenized deposits, and custody technology. Google states the successful candidate will advise business leaders and help shape the company's Web3 product roadmap. This effort aims to establish Google Cloud as a preferred cloud service provider for digital asset companies and financial institutions entering this space.
Apple is also expanding into the digital asset sector. The company is searching for an Apple Pay financial product strategy lead, based in Cupertino, California, or New York. This role focuses on product strategy for Apple Card, Apple Cash, peer-to-peer (P2P) payments, and other consumer financial products. Apple seeks a candidate capable of evaluating new products, partnerships, and commercial models within the e-wallet, payments, and commerce sectors.

These job postings do not confirm that Google or Apple are preparing to launch new cryptocurrency products. However, they indicate that major technology companies, or Big Tech, are poised to play a larger role in stablecoins, tokenization, and blockchain-based payments. This move extends beyond the traditional operations of specialized crypto firms.
CME Group, an exchange facilitating institutional derivatives trading, announced an expanded partnership with Google Cloud in 3/2025. This collaboration aims to research asset tokenization and blockchain payments. CME Group also unveiled the initial phase of integrating and testing the Google Cloud Universal Ledger (GCUL).
These recruitment announcements follow Samsung's plans to integrate stablecoin features into Galaxy phones via Samsung Wallet. This initiative could provide hundreds of millions of users with access to digital asset payment tools directly on their devices. Experts suggest Samsung's extensive user base could create a significant distribution advantage for stablecoins.
