In a report sent to the Hanoi Stock Exchange on 22/11, Ha Long Canfoco Joint Stock Company (Halong Canfoco) stated it "cannot determine a specific time to resume production and business" at its Hai Phong factory.
Halong Canfoco reported that its ISO management certification was revoked, and its FSSC 22000 food safety certification was suspended. Since then, the company has reorganized its management apparatus, reviewed its entire supply chain, and improved production processes. It also developed and implemented measures to prevent recurrence of issues and retrained employees.
However, after reviewing the situation, the company recognized a need for more time to resolve issues, still affected by internal and external factors. As a result, the company's factory in Hai Phong continues to halt operations.
Previously, the company's Hai Phong factory ceased operations for 14 days starting 12/1, following the announcement of 130 tons of contaminated pork in its raw material warehouse.

On 10/1, Hai Phong Public Security arrested Halong Canfoco General Director Truong Sy Toan for allegedly collecting and storing a large quantity of contaminated pork in the company's cold storage facilities. The company's Board of Directors assigned Cao Nhat Huy, Deputy Production Director, to temporarily manage the factory.
Established in 1957 in Hai Phong, Halong Canfoco was formerly known as the Ha Long Canned Fish Factory. In 2021, the company listed on the stock exchange with the ticker CAN.
After nearly 70 years, Halong Canfoco produces various products, including sausages, canned goods, and frozen foods, serving both domestic and export markets.
The Ha Long canned food factory in Hai Phong is located at 71 Le Lai, Ngo Quyen ward. This factory covers over 57,100 square meters. It has a food and seafood production capacity of 4,440 tons per year. This includes 1,179 tons of canned meat, 71 tons of canned fish, 109 tons of spring rolls, 2,202 tons of sausages, 495 tons of canned lotus seeds, and 384 tons of canned vegetables and fruits. In addition to its main factory in Hai Phong, the company has two production facilities in Da Nang and Dong Thap.
During the 14-day production halt, the company confirmed it would still pay workers, according to a plan reported to the Hai Phong Confederation of Labor. Employees working at the Dong Thap lotus seed purchasing station receive 3,7 million dong per month, while employees in other areas receive 5,31 million dong per month.
Beyond wages, the company provides social insurance, unemployment insurance, health insurance, and other benefits as stipulated by law and internal regulations.
