With a minimum of 20 batteries, participants received useful items such as canvas bags, recycled notebooks, bamboo straws, and seed pencils. The gift exchange took place directly at OCB's green branches and transaction offices, fostering excitement and connection between the bank and the community.
To broaden its reach and create more access points for the community, the bank established a collection network of nearly 200 locations nationwide. In addition to its system of branches and transaction offices, the program expanded to nearly 30 other partner locations, including schools, hospitals, apartment buildings, and shopping centers, making it easier for everyone to participate.

Beyond collection, OCB emphasizes the post-reception processing. All batteries are handed over to a specialized unit for sorting and processing using a high-tech incineration system, operating at temperatures from 650 to 1,232 degrees C. Compounds like lead, mercury, and cadmium are treated through a technical process to limit emissions. The resulting slag is reused as an additive in cement production, reducing landfill waste and ensuring compliance with environmental standards.
At many transaction points, the number of people bringing batteries for collection increased daily. Hoang Nam, 27, from Hoan Kiem, Ha Noi, stated that he encouraged colleagues to save old batteries for the program instead of discarding them with household waste. According to Nam, bringing batteries to OCB allowed him to exchange them for gifts and ensure they would be properly disposed of without harming the environment. "It's just a small change in daily habits, but if everyone contributes a little effort, it will create a more positive and practical impact on our living environment," Nam said.

According to Thanh Phuong from Ban Co ward, TP HCM, the "Pin Hunter" campaign influences community habits and serves as a practical lesson for younger generations. Through the battery exchange activity, Phuong hopes to teach her child about environmental protection starting with the smallest actions. This helps her child understand that even a small battery can cause harm if not properly disposed of.
An OCB representative stated that the enthusiastic community response after phase one motivated the bank to expand the program. "Pin Hunter" represents the bank's long-term commitment to helping customers build green living habits, contributing to a cleaner future.
The campaign runs concurrently with the bank's green credit activities and support for renewable energy projects. With the message "old batteries go green - a healthier earth," the program is expected to continue until 31/5 at OCB branches and transaction offices nationwide, aiming to sustain concrete actions for the environment.
