The event gathered over 600 chefs, experts, and businesses from the culinary industry. Attendees included Toan Nguyen, standing committee member of the Vietnam Tourism Association; Nguyen Huu Viet, deputy director of the Hanoi Trade Information and Promotion Center; Nguyen Tien Dat, vice chairman of the Hanoi Tourism Association; along with chefs, culinary business owners, enterprises, and training institutions in the culinary and tourism sectors.

The Hanoi Chef Team was formed to represent the capital's cuisine in international competitions and promote Vietnamese culinary culture. Chef Nguyen Cong Chung, executive chef of Sheraton Hanoi Hotel, serves as the head coach. He is the first Vietnamese to hold an executive chef position at a 5-star international hotel in Vietnam. The team members are chefs selected from outstanding, experienced, and talented individuals in Hanoi's culinary industry.

Ha Hai Doan, chairman of the Hanoi Professional Chef Association, stated that the team will be a core force participating in international arenas. This initiative aims not only to enhance professional expertise but also to serve as a cultural exchange bridge, bringing Hanoi cuisine closer to friends worldwide.
A notable activity at the event was a fundraising auction for the team. A painting by artist Viet Hung was sold, with participation from many renowned chefs such as Pham Tuan Hai, Nguyen Dinh Hung, Truong Cong Le, Nguyen Danh Hinh, and Mr Food. The total amount raised reached 118,5 million VND, with chef Pham Tuan Hai's group contributing 50 million VND.

The event also brought together over 50 brands supplying ingredients, equipment, and services for the culinary industry, such as Maggi, Green Food Company, IVCOM wine distributor, and Sao Mai Cooking Center, creating a networking space for the community. On this occasion, the Hanoi Professional Chef Association also received certificates of merit from the Vietnam Tourism Association, Hanoi Department of Tourism, and Hanoi Tourism Association, recognizing its contributions to the overall development of the industry.
Besides the launch ceremony, the program included panel discussions and experience sharing among generations of chefs, from international experts to young culinary apprentices. Hanoi Chef's Day 2026 is considered a milestone in the capital's culinary industry's efforts towards professionalization and international integration, laying the groundwork for more professional activities in the future.
