On 7/5, General Secretary and President To Lam visited and worked in Mumbai (Maharashtra state). Immediately after landing, he visited the National Stock Exchange of India, according to Vietnam News Agency (TTXVN).
Srinivas Injeti, Chairman of the National Stock Exchange of India, stated that General Secretary and President To Lam's choice to visit India, particularly Mumbai – its financial center – to meet the financial community, reflects the growing importance of Vietnam - India cooperation.
He affirmed the National Stock Exchange of India is ready to support Vietnam's capital market development. He also welcomes Vietnamese businesses seeking capital raising opportunities in India.

Srinivas Injeti expressed confidence that Vietnamese businesses will attract strong interest from Indian investors. He noted that both Vietnam and India are fast-growing economies with young populations, integration-oriented, and driven by manufacturing and technology. Both countries also prioritize capital markets in their development strategies.
The exchange leader mentioned that bilateral trade turnover between Vietnam and India has exceeded 16 billion USD and continues to grow steadily. However, the next phase of cooperation will be driven not only by trade but also by investment flows and financial market connectivity.
According to Srinivas Injeti, the National Stock Exchange of India is currently the world's largest derivatives exchange by volume, with a total capitalization of approximately 5 trillion USD and over 130 million investors.
The year 2026 also marks the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and India. The Chairman of the National Stock Exchange of India anticipates that General Secretary and President To Lam's visit will become a milestone, advancing relations between the two countries towards substantive cooperation in markets, capital, and enterprises.
On this occasion, Srinivas Injeti, Chairman of the National Stock Exchange of India, invited General Secretary and President To Lam to perform the opening bell ceremony for the exchange. He also toured the national trading operations room, the technology center, and the exchange's cybersecurity room.
