Italian packaging solutions at ProPak Vietnam 2026

15 Italian businesses showcase advanced packaging solutions at ProPak Vietnam 2026, meeting the diverse needs of the Vietnamese market.

ProPak Vietnam 2026, a prominent exhibition, is being held at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC) from 31/3 to 2/4. Within the framework of the event, the Italian Trade Agency in Vietnam (ITA), in collaboration with the Italian Packaging Machinery Manufacturers' Association (UCIMA), organized a dedicated pavilion. This pavilion features 15 businesses specializing in packaging and processing machinery, located at booths AL1-5, AL7-16, AL19, Hall A2.

Ilaria Piccinni, trade commissioner of Italy in Vietnam and director of ITA in TP HCM, stated that participating businesses are presenting products showcasing Italy's strengths in automation, sustainability, and design. These solutions encompass primary and secondary packaging, as well as dosing, labeling, and food processing machines. They feature advanced, high-quality technology customizable to the Vietnamese market's needs.

On the opening day, at 11:30 am, Consul General of Italy in TP HCM Alessandra Tognonato and Ilaria Piccinni inaugurated the Italian pavilion at the ITA booth area. Both representatives highlighted the significance of this presence and the prospects for cooperation in Vietnam.

The Italian pavilion also featured OpportunItaly: a business acceleration program. This initiative, jointly implemented by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and ITA, aims to connect businesses from both countries and provide in-depth information across various sectors.

Italy's packaging machinery sector is experiencing robust growth, ranking among the world leaders. In 2024, the industry's revenue reached 10 billion euro, with exports accounting for approximately 80%. Italian businesses benefit from their technology, the quality of their solutions, customization capabilities, manufacturing flexibility, global after-sales services, and competitive pricing.

Beyond technological innovation, Italian manufacturers have established a global technical support network. This network assists customers with maintenance, upgrades, and optimizing equipment efficiency, minimizing production downtime.

Alessandra Tognonato observed significant room for cooperation between Vietnam and Italy in the packaging sector. Vietnam is a rapidly developing market with substantial demand for modern, sustainable solutions. Italy, in turn, possesses strengths in technology and design, creating a mutually beneficial foundation.

For several years, ITA has maintained a national pavilion at ProPak Vietnam, attracting numerous Italian businesses. This initiative provides opportunities for cooperation and market expansion. Additionally, ITA regularly organizes trade promotion activities and B2B connections to foster effective business partnerships. ITA also arranges and coordinates Vietnamese business delegations to participate in international trade fairs in Italy, such as Ipack-Ima, Cosmopack, and CibusTech. These specialized exhibitions focus on packaging and processing machinery technology, helping Vietnamese businesses access industry trends and innovations.
