To meet the growing demands of the food and beverage industry, third-party logistics (3PL) provider ITS Logistics has launched its National Food and Beverage Logistics Center. This unified network of distribution centers is designed to serve the increasing needs of food manufacturers, importers, exporters, and distributors across the US.
According to ITS, the network spans over 92 acres across three strategic locations: Reno, Dallas, and Indianapolis. These locations are strategically positioned to reach 95% of the US population within two days, shortening delivery cycles, optimizing import/export processes, and offering flexibility for various fulfillment channels: D2C (direct-to-consumer), B2B (business-to-business), Amazon SFP (Seller Fulfilled Prime), and traditional retail.
This marks ITS's first fully integrated solution for the food industry—a sector known for its complexity and strict regulatory requirements. The solution combines asset-based distribution centers, advanced technology, and a reliable transportation network to ensure comprehensive efficiency, traceability, and regulatory compliance.
"This network is built for both emerging and established brands looking to scale operations, protect product quality, and meet increasingly stringent retailer and regulatory demands," Kasia Wenker, ITS's Vice President of Engineering Solutions, stated in a press release.

ITS representatives noted that the global food supply chain market is projected to grow from 182.8 billion USD in 2025 to over 359 billion USD by 2034, placing significant pressure on logistics providers to ensure speed, safety, traceability, and cost control at scale. Packaged food holds the largest market share—55% in 2024—driven by increasing consumer demand for convenient products. This shift necessitates faster delivery speeds, precise inventory control, and stricter regulatory adherence, especially as brands expand into omnichannel distribution.
However, alongside industry growth, risks are also escalating. According to CargoNet's Q1 2025 Supply Chain Risk Trends Report, food and beverages are the most stolen commodities, with thefts of non-alcoholic beverages increasing by 94% compared to 2024. Distribution centers and warehouses are prime targets, with criminals employing tactics ranging from falsified pickup orders to exploiting security vulnerabilities, resulting in millions of USD in losses. In light of this, businesses must carefully consider where they store their goods and how they verify transportation partners.
"Today's supply chains are more interconnected than ever," Wenker observed. "That connectivity creates opportunity, but it also creates risk. When you have one partner capable of managing the entire process from end to end, you not only gain visibility but also an added layer of protection and control. That protects not only your goods but also your bottom line."
ITS's food logistics network is designed to meet these demanding market requirements, with key features including: real-time expiration date and lot tracking; centralized quality monitoring to meet inspection and testing standards; temperature- and humidity-controlled cold storage in Dallas for sensitive goods. Additionally, the company offers integrated processes for retail distribution, Amazon SFP, and omnichannel fulfillment; comprehensive driver verification at all facilities to mitigate theft risk; FTZ (free trade zone)-ready facilities to defer duties and boost import/export efficiency; and JIT (just-in-time) delivery programs and trailer drop yards to support factory inbound supply chains.
"Our distribution centers are not just food-grade, they’re food-strategic. We bring a supply chain advantage to brands by integrating transportation, warehousing, and quality control under one unified operating model," Wenker affirmed.
