A bank representative stated this decision aims to reposition operations closer to high-growth areas, especially the Southern Key Economic Zone. If approved by the general shareholders' meeting, KienlongBank would be the first commercial joint-stock bank to establish its headquarters in Dong Nai province.
This move occurs amid increasing competition in major financial centers, while rapidly developing industrial provinces offer new growth opportunities for banking operations.
In 2025, Dong Nai will have the fourth largest economy nationwide, with a GRDP growth rate of approximately 9.63%. The province boasts over 40 operational industrial parks and major infrastructure projects such as Long Thanh International Airport, a system of expressways, and seaports. Its strategic location, connecting Ho Chi Minh City (TP HCM) and neighboring provinces, makes it a destination for many businesses and investors.
Total credit outstanding in the area has exceeded 600,000 billion VND and is projected to continue rising in the coming years, driven by a wave of investment in industry, logistics, and urbanization. This region also concentrates many foreign direct investment (FDI) enterprises and supply chains, leading to significant demand for trade finance, guarantees, and cash flow management.
In this context, relocating the headquarters to Dong Nai is expected to help KienlongBank expand its market share and strengthen connections with the business ecosystem in the Southern region. According to the bank's representative, this is not merely a change of location but a strategic step to get closer to high-growth areas during the 2026-2030 period, while also realizing its vision of becoming a comprehensive digital bank.

A presence in a rapidly industrializing and urbanizing province is also expected to enable the bank to boost fintech applications, expand digital solutions, and enhance service capacity. KienlongBank stated it would strengthen connections with local government and businesses, developing financial services such as trade finance, guarantees, and cash flow management to meet the needs of FDI enterprises and supply chains.
Simultaneously, the bank will integrate advanced digital banking solutions and apply artificial intelligence (AI) technology, such as Kiloba AI, to deliver smart financial services directly to users, thereby boosting consumption and supporting local household economies.
In addition to the relocation plan, KienlongBank stated it would continue to maintain operations in existing locations, including An Giang, a province closely associated with the bank's formation and development for over 30 years.
