Luong Hoang Thai, director general of the Trade Remedies Authority, has been appointed deputy minister of industry and trade, according to Decision 1836 dated 24/9 by Prime Minister Le Minh Hung.

Born in 1973 in Quang Ngai, Thai holds a bachelor's degree in foreign trade economics, a master's in international business, and an advanced degree in political theory.

The new deputy minister brings 30 years of experience in the trade sector, with most of his career dedicated to international trade policy.

He began his career at the Ministry of Trade in 1996 as a specialist in the Multilateral Trade Policy Department. In 2003, he was appointed deputy director, and from 11/2010, he served as director of the Multilateral Trade Policy Department within the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

He held this position for over 14 years before being appointed director general of the Trade Remedies Authority in 3/2025. This agency advises the minister of industry and trade on state management and the implementation of laws concerning anti-dumping, anti-subsidy, and trade safeguard measures.

The current leadership of the Ministry of Industry and Trade includes Minister Le Manh Hung and 4 deputy ministers: Phan Thi Thang, Truong Thanh Hoai, Nguyen Viet Son, and Luong Hoang Thai.
