Nam A Bank secures additional 20 million USD in green credit from Switzerland

Nam A Bank has just mobilized an additional 20 million USD from SIFEM AG and funds managed by responsAbility Investments AG (Switzerland), bringing its total international capital raised since the beginning of the year to nearly 350 million USD.

The signing ceremony for Nam A Bank's international green credit agreement with SIFEM AG, a one hundred percent Swiss-owned development finance institution, and funds managed by responsAbility Investments AG, took place on 6/8 during the Vietnam Green Finance Conference 2026 in Ho Chi Minh City. Representatives from regulatory bodies, international financial organizations, and the Consulate General of Switzerland in Ho Chi Minh City witnessed the event.

According to Nam A Bank, to access this credit, the bank underwent a thorough appraisal process by its Swiss partners, evaluating its risk management capabilities, operational transparency, and effectiveness in implementing sustainable development programs. The 20 million USD credit will be prioritized for green credit initiatives, focusing on supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), renewable energy projects, energy saving, and climate change response, contributing to the goal of net zero emissions by 2050.

Vo Hoang Hai, Deputy General Director of Nam A Bank, stated that the cooperation with SIFEM and the asset management company confirms Nam A Bank's transparent operational standards and ESG management capabilities meet stringent global benchmarks.

"We are committed to using these funds effectively to promote financial inclusion, helping small and medium-sized enterprises access green capital, thereby driving sustainable growth", said Hai.

This event extends Nam A Bank's success in diversifying its international capital sources. The bank has fostered strategic partnerships with leading global financial institutions and development organizations, including: J.P. Morgan, IFC, ADB, FMO, SIFEM, Proparco, Symbiotics, BlueOrchard, and various fund management companies. These collaborations have enabled the bank to consistently mobilize large-scale international capital, diversifying its funding structure. Since the beginning of the year, Nam A Bank has successfully mobilized nearly 350 million USD in international capital.

The Vietnam Green Finance Conference 2026 was initiated by Nam A Bank in collaboration with FiinGroup, the Vietnam International Finance Center in Ho Chi Minh City (VIFC-HCMC), and the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI). The forum aims to connect international capital with the financing needs of green projects in Vietnam, while promoting the adoption of ESG standards and enhancing enterprises' access to capital.

The conference attracted over 200 delegates, including leaders from regulatory bodies, financial institutions, international investors, and the business community. *Photo: Nam A Bank*

SIFEM (Swiss Investment Fund for Emerging Markets) is a Swiss-owned development finance institution with an investment portfolio exceeding 1 billion USD. It focuses on small and medium-sized enterprises, financial inclusion, renewable energy, and sectors with developmental impact. SIFEM applies stringent international environmental, social, and governance (ESG) standards and frequently co-invests with major development finance institutions such as IFC, EIB, FMO, and British International Investment.

Accompanying this financing is responsAbility Investments AG, a Swiss asset management company specializing in impact investing in emerging markets, which currently manages SIFEM's investment portfolio.
