Wearing his signature black leather jacket, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang spoke for two hours to a packed hall in San Jose, California, US. This was the company's technology event on 17/3, where he extensively discussed Nvidia's leading vision in the artificial intelligence (AI) boom.

Huang stated that Nvidia plans to continue meeting chip demand for chatbots like OpenAI's ChatGPT and Google's Gemini, while expanding into the emerging market for inference processors.
After an AI tool is trained, inference chips enable the technology to apply its learning and generate responses (such as writing documents or creating images) more efficiently than chips used for large language models. The 63-year-old billionaire believes the "inference" sector is approaching a new development turning point.
"We have reinvented computing, much like the revolution with personal computers and the internet", Huang declared. He also projected that Nvidia would achieve one trillion USD in chip orders by the end of this year. This figure is double his estimate from last year and nearly five times the company's 2025 revenue.
Thanks to its dominant position in the AI chip market, Nvidia's annual revenue increased from 27 billion USD in 2022 to 216 billion USD last year. This rapid growth has resulted in a market capitalization of 4.5 trillion USD for the company, significantly up from one trillion USD three years ago.
In reality, Nvidia's stock has cooled since the company became the first to surpass the 5 trillion USD market capitalization mark last October, amidst concerns that the AI boom might be overhyped.
Meanwhile, analysts predict Nvidia's revenue will exceed 330 billion USD next year. Additionally, the company is facing its first serious challenge in the AI chip market as other tech giants like Google and Meta are developing their own chips.
To support its transition into the "inference" sector, Nvidia has signed a multi-billion dollar licensing agreement with chip startup Groq, which includes recruiting the startup's top engineers.
Dan Ives, an analyst from Wedbush Securities, believes Nvidia will not cede any market share to Google or Meta. He predicts the company's market value could exceed 6 trillion USD or even higher next year.
