Phu My Hung hosts 'creating with recycled materials' competition

The program, for children aged 5-12, encourages them to recycle used materials. Submissions are open until 4/8.

Phu My Hung is hosting the online competition "Creating with Recycled Materials" with the theme "I love the environment". The program aims to create a creative playground for children, combined with the message of environmental protection.

To participate, children aged 5 to 12 can use recycled materials such as plastic bottles, cans, paper, cardboard, old clothes, bottle caps, and straws to create useful products like toys, learning materials, and household items. Each individual or group will create a video of up to 7 minutes, introducing their product, the materials used, the process, its function, and the message of environmental protection.

The competition offers a total prize of nearly 15 million VND, including one first prize of 2 million VND, three second prizes of 1 million VND each, six third prizes of 800,000 VND each, and 10 consolation prizes of 500,000 VND each.

"Creating with Recycled Materials" is part of the 8th Phu My Hung Green Living Festival. The festival will take place on 9/8 at Crescent Lake Park, Phu My Hung Urban Area, Tan Hung ward, Ho Chi Minh City. In addition to the competition, the festival will feature environmentally focused activities such as exchanging batteries, books, and old equipment for gifts. The program also includes displays of models and miniatures made from recycled materials, hands-on recycling activities, a balance bike playground made from recycled plastic, and plant pot decoration.

The festival is part of a series of community events organized by Phu My Hung Development Company Limited with the aim of gradually improving the value and quality of life for the urban area's residents. Through the program, the organizers hope to inspire a love for nature and the environment, and to spread the spirit of green and healthy living.

In addition, this year's festival sees Phu My Hung co-organizing and sharing space and theme with the "Flowers and Trash" music and arts program. This concert is a story about the environment, staged through the language of music in four chapters: Homeland Love - Scattering and Picking Up - Flowers and Trash - Multicolored Environment, featuring songs by Trinh Cong Son, Van Cao, Pham Duy, and several international songs with Vietnamese lyrics.

According to a representative of the organizing committee, each chapter brings meaning and emotion, starting from beautiful memories of nature, moving to current issues, confronting them, and finally leading to awareness, hope, and action. The "Flowers and Trash" concert is a harmony of music, light, and recycled materials, where trash becomes the main character, picked up and illuminated on stage to recount its journey of rebirth.

The concert will take place from 7 p.m. on 9/8 at Crescent Lake Park. The 8th Phu My Hung Green Living Festival and the concert are free and open to the public.
