Shopping demand surges during Shopee 11/11 mega sale

Shopee boosts Shopee Live and Shopee Video, supporting partners to optimize operations, improve sales, and help users save over 2.8 trillion VND.

The platform enhanced Shopee Live, Shopee Video, and other marketing and AI tools to help partners optimize operations, meet online demand, and aim for growth during the peak year-end shopping season. This also allowed users to save more than 2.8 trillion VND throughout the campaign.

According to Shopee, the recent 11/11 Mega Sale event saw a significant increase in shopping, reflecting vibrant consumer demand. Entertainment-shopping activities, such as "Sao live dinh chop" (Top Star Live) and "Sao thi sao" (What About Stars), garnered substantial interaction on Shopee Live and Shopee Video, helping sellers and brands boost orders and sales.

Tran Tuan Anh, Chief Operating Officer of Shopee Vietnam, stated that this year the platform continued to upgrade its ecosystem and expand shopping-entertainment activities to enhance user experience while enabling sellers to operate more effectively. He added, "The platform is boosting Shopee Live and Shopee Video, along with marketing and AI tools, to help partners optimize operations, meet online demand, and aim for growth during the peak year-end shopping season."

The entertainment-shopping model remained a highlight of this year's Shopee 11/11 Mega Sale. Livestream sessions by sellers, KOLs (Key Opinion Leaders), and KOCs (Key Opinion Consumers) on Shopee Live, combined with product review videos on Shopee Video, attracted 1.8 billion views during the campaign. On 11/11 alone, Shopee Live viewership increased 23 times compared to normal days.

Interactive content on Shopee Live and Shopee Video not only helped sellers and brands increase visibility and effectively promote product catalogs but also drove purchasing conversions. Statistics from the platform show that over 45 million products were sold through these two channels during the event.

This success stemmed from Shopee's collaboration with sellers and brands to expand scale and diversify entertainment content, delivering a richer, more engaging shopping experience for users.

Notably, Shopee enhanced its series of livestream activities within the 11/11 framework, highlighted by the "Sao live dinh chop" music festival on 10/11. The program energized the countdown to Mega Sale Day with performances by renowned Vietnamese singers and an elaborately staged production, creating a complete fusion of light, sound, and visuals.

Immediately following, the "Sao thi sao" livestream series on 11/11 continued to draw large audiences, affirming its role as a familiar source of entertainment for Shopee users. These two entertainment programs collectively garnered over 12 million views across platforms, from Shopee Live to social media channels.

Alongside entertainment, the event maintained its position as one of the year's largest shopping programs, offering numerous deals from Shopee and its partners. Users nationwide saved over 2.8 trillion VND; nearly 80 million orders received free shipping with no minimum spend during the program, reducing delivery cost barriers.

Due to the strong surge in year-end shopping, the platform recorded significant growth signals from sellers and brands. According to Shopee, the volume of Shopee Mall products sold on 11/11 increased 26 times compared to normal days, indicating that demand for genuine products remains a crucial factor in purchasing decisions and contributes to brand growth.

Furthermore, seasonal items popular during autumn-winter and the festive season also showed growth. For instance, sweaters and cardigans, hoodies, and sweatshirts were the categories that saw the highest order growth, increasing 16 to 19 times compared to normal days. On Shopee Live and Shopee Video, the top three best-selling categories included: skincare, makeup, and home care. Products like face masks, facial cleansers, makeup removers, lip tints, laundry detergents, and tissues were among the most sought-after items during the 11/11 event.

The 11/11 Mega Sale's series of entertainment-shopping activities reflects Shopee's efforts to enhance user experience while creating opportunities and supporting growth for sellers and brands on the platform.
