Smeg launches limited edition collection in collaboration with Porsche

The Porsche x Smeg collection is available in Vietnam, featuring a limited quantity of 5 refrigerators and 30 coffee machines in Salzburg red.

The launch of the Porsche x Smeg limited edition collection took place at Estella Place on 23/5. This marks the collection's debut in the Vietnamese market, following its global success among design enthusiasts, sports car fans, and luxury appliance consumers.

The Porsche x Smeg 917 Salzburg Limited Edition collection, featuring two appliances, highlights the brand's aesthetic. In Vietnam, the 917 Salzburg edition is available in a very limited quantity: 5 refrigerators and 30 automatic coffee machines.

According to the company, these limited numbers make the launch more than just an unveiling of new appliances. For design enthusiasts, brand history buffs, and those with a luxurious lifestyle, it is also an opportunity to acquire highly collectible items.

The event space was designed for privacy, focusing on observing and learning about each display item. Guests from the Porsche community, along with partners and loyal customers of Smeg Vietnam, were introduced to key designs before delving into the story behind the collaboration.

The main inspiration for this limited edition comes from the Porsche 917 KH, the car associated with Porsche’s first overall victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans race in 1970. This marked a significant milestone in the German sports car brand’s history, establishing its position on one of the world’s most challenging racetracks.

The appliances feature a striking red color, Porsche stripes, and the number 23, directly evoking the car that made history at Le Mans. "This symbol is not merely a decorative detail; it represents Porsche's spirit of victory, speed, and endurance on the racetrack," explained a company representative.

The products are finished with Porsche stripes running across the door and sides, combined with the brand logo. The refrigerator handle is directly inspired by the door handle of the Porsche 911 GT3 RS, with proportions meticulously adjusted for balance and harmony. This overall design makes the refrigerator a visual highlight in modern kitchen spaces.

The automatic coffee machine continues this spirit in a more compact form. Its distinctive red color, the number 23, and the Porsche lettering on the side give the appliance a clear identity. Worldwide, only 1,970 units of each item in this limited edition are produced.

The number 1,970 was chosen to honor the year Porsche first won at Le Mans. Each product is individually numbered and comes with a metal certificate of authenticity.

The collection also includes Shade Green and Carrara White versions. *Photo: Smeg Vietnam*

In addition to the red 917 Salzburg edition, the Porsche x Smeg collection also offers two color versions: Shade Green and Carrara White. Many home appliances share a consistent design language, including refrigerators, automatic coffee machines, blenders, kettles, and toasters.

Following the launch event, interested customers can visit and experience the collection firsthand at showrooms.
